Laura Robson teamed up with Hungarian Fanni Stollár at the ITF event in Yokohama and the pair were seeded second in the doubles. In the first round the Brit/Hungarian faced Yuki Chiang and Julia Wachaczyk. The second seeds got off to a great start and had very little trouble with the American/German pairing, the seeds broke in each of the sets and went on to hold and take the match 6-3, 6-3.

The quarter-final saw the seeds against Rika Fujiwara and Dalma Gálfi, the Japanese/Hungarian started well and broke Robson & Stollár in the first set, to take the lead. However, the seeds soon got level in the match after breaking in the second set. A match tiebreak would decide the semi-finalists. Fujiwara & Gálfi were unable to stay the distance as the seeds surged ahead and didn’t look back, taking the match 3-6, 6-4, 10-5.

In the semi-final Robson & Stollár were up against Haruka Kaji & Ayano Shimizu and the Japanese pairing tried hard to break the momentum of the second seeds, however, the Brit/Hungarian were not having any of it and secured the break of serve needed in each set to book their place in the final 6-4, 6-4.

The final saw the second seeds against another Japanese pairing Momoko Kobori & Chihiro Muramatsu. The home favourites got the perfect start and stayed with Robson & Stollár throughout the first set, the Japanese team even got the break right at the end of the set to take the lead.

Robson & Stollár fought back well in the second set though, having worked out the Japanese pair game they broke twice to level the match and force a match tiebreak to decide the winners. The second seeds had little trouble in the tiebreak and shot out to a lead that they never dropped, claiming the title 5-7, 6-2, 10-4.
