Tournament Results & Quick Hits – WTA Doha

  • One of the most impressive performances was Garbiñe Muguruza, who cannoned through the first set against Sorana Cirstea before easing into the quarter-final after what had been a bit of a faltering start to her year.
  • Petra Kvitova was also one to watch as she came through a tight two setter against Elina Svitolina, coasting on the success of the St Petersburg title
  • Johanna Konta put up a spirited fight against two-time Grand Slam champion and former World No. 1 Angelique Kerber, but while her confidence is returning, she just fell short in the decider.
  • World No. 1 Caroline Wozniacki was pushed in a feisty first set against Monica Niculescu, before easing into the quarter-final.
