WTA Doha Results & Quick Hits

  • Daria Kasatkina upset top seed Angelique Kerber for the second time this year, as the schedule in Doha tried to get back on track after rain delays. In a bit of a lop-sided match, Kasatkina edged the first set before failing to trouble the scoreboard in the second set, dashing Kerber’s hopes in the decider.
  • Great mates Caroline Wozniacki and Agnieszka Radwanska out on a show with the speedy Dane bumping the No. 4 seed off the running for the title.
  • Dominika Cibulkova scored her first win over Samantha Stosur to book the first semi-final spot in Doha with some very solid aggressive play.
  • Highest seed standing Karolina Pliskova is already enjoying her most successful campaign to date having reached the quarter-final for the first time, and she leads Zhang Shuai 3-0 in their head to head.

ATP Rotterdam Results & Quick Hits

  • The quarter-finals are set in Rotterdam as defending champion Martin Klizan opens proceedings against Tomas Berdych.
  • More Rotterdam alumni Marin Cilic and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga as Cilic looks still really looking to get some consistency to his game so far in 2017
  • If it feels a little like deja-vu, we have a repeat of the Sofia final as the in-form Grigor Dimitrov tackles David Goffin once more. Dimitrov is on a 16-1 run at the moment as he bids to better his best performance of the 2013 semi-finals in Rotterdam.
  • After beating his ATP NextGen rival Alexander Zverev in a stacked opener, Dominic Thiem will face Pierre-Hugues Herbert. The Frenchman is only is his second career quarter-final on the ATP World Tour, so Thiem’s experience may well propel him to his first semi-final showing this season.
