  • Top seed Novak Djokovic went 20-0 in 2020 and is assured of passing Pete Sampras on 21 September for second-most weeks at No. 1 since the rankings began in 1973.
  • It was unlucky 13 for Andy Murray who was not helped by a torrential rain delay, bowing out to Milos Raonic in the third round, as the Canadian snapped an eight-match losing streak against the Brit, going back to 2014.

  • Serena Williams found herself locked in another three-set battle, losing from being match points up against Maria Sakkari.
  • Sakkari will now face Johanna Konta who continued her great run of form since the restart
  • A couple of names to watch – Anett Kontaveit has been progressing quietly but efficiently through the draw, as has Ons Jabeur who could well be ones to watch for the US Open
  • 2013 champion Victoria Azarenka has also been good form since the restart, having not won a match since the start of the year.
