ATP Monte Carlo Results & Quick Hits

  • It was another solid win for British No. 2 Cameron Norrie, who eased past Marton Fucsovics to continue his winning ways on his Monte Carlo debut. Next up for him will be qualifier Lorenzo Sonego, who dispatched Karen Khachanov in the second round.
  • Meanwhile if Novak Djokovic had it slightly tough in his opener, there was no such worries for Rafael Nadal, making his return to the tour after withdrawing from his semi-final against Roger Federer in Indian Wells last month. He roared past fellow Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut for the loss of just two games.
  • Exciting Canadian talented teen Felix Auger-Aliassime had a bit of a lesson at the hands of the No. 3 seed Alexander Zverev, who handled the youngster with comparative ease in straight sets.
  • No. 5 seed Kei Nishikori was the highest seeded casualty, followed by David Goffin [16] in the last match of the day.
