Murray & Bruno Soares are seeded fourth at the French Open. Their first round opponents were Evgeny Donskoy & Andrey Kuznetsov. The Russians were not able to trouble the Brit/Brazilian much in the first set.

Donskoy & Kuznetsov created three break point chances in the first set, but all were snuffed out by the seeds. The Australian Open champions took the vital break to seal the first set and take the lead.

The second set proved to be of a similar vein, although the Russians never managed to create any break points. Murray & Soares continued the momentum of the first set and never looked back. Taking the vital break of serve the seeds were too strong for the Russians and defeated Donskoy & Kuznetsov 6-3 6-3.

Murray & Chan are top seeds in the mixed doubles. The first round opponents for the Brit/Taipei team was against Murray’s old doubles partner John Peers & Daria Gavrilova.

The Australians had no answer to anything the top seeds threw at them. Murray & Chan wasted no time dominating the match and lost only three games on the way to the next round, taking the match in straight sets 6-1 6-2

Heather Watson & Nicole Gibbs after playing against each other in the first round of the singles, had teamed up for the doubles. Taking to the court against Sabine Lisicki & Andrea Petkovic the Brit/American pair played well. Unfortunately the Germans were better on the day and defeated Watson & Gibbs 6-4 6-4

Joceyln Rae & Anna Smith started their French Open campaign against Miyu Kato & Kurumi Nara. The Brits are ranked 79th in the doubles with the Japanese pair being lower ranked. Kato & Nara however started better and broke the Brits to take the first set.

Rae & Smith forced a second set tiebreak, which was very tight. The Brits edged the tiebreak to level the match at one set all.

The final set saw the Brits take control of the match even with the Japanese breaking the Brits serve once. Rae & Smith broke twice and secured the win to move into the second round. 4-6 7-6 6-3.
