Manchester United have had a dreadful start to the season suffering back-to-back defeats in their opening two games. Eric ten Hag‘s side needs to bounce back from last Saturday’s humiliation at Brentford. However, it is not going to be easy as Liverpool arrives at Old Trafford on Monday night.

Jurgen Klopp‘s side has not had the best start to the season either with two draws against Fulham and Crystal Palace so far. They will also be without new striker Darwin Nunez after he was sent off for a headbutt on Palace’s Joachim Andersen.

The Red Devils lost 5-0 and 4-0 to Liverpool in last season’s fixtures and will be hoping to not suffer another embarrassing defeat against their bitter rivals.

Score prediction: Manchester United 0-3 Liverpool

Newcastle vs Manchester City, Sunday 21 August, kick-off 16:30

Manchester City became a force when the Abu Dhabi United Group took over in 2008 and they take on the new money of Newcastle who last year was taken over by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund.

However, the star signings expected for Newcastle have not arrived with only Sven Botman, Matt Targett and Nick Pope arriving at the club.

Man City have already had two victories and will be buoyed by Liverpool already dropping points. Pep Guardiola‘s side had a convincing 4-0 win over Bournemouth last weekend while the Magpies drew 0-0 with Brighton. This weekend should be another straightforward victory for City.

Score prediction Newcastle 0-2 Manchester City

Fulham vs Brentford, Saturday 20 August, kick-off 15:00

The first West London derby of the season sees Fulham take on a Brentford side who will be buzzing after their victory over Manchester United last time out.

The Cottagers have not had a bad start either with two draws already including a 2-2 result against Liverpool that saw Aleksander Mitrovic score twice.

Thomas Frank‘s side will be on a high after beating United and will be expecting another victory when they head to Craven Cottage.

Score prediction: Fulham 0-2 Brentford

Leeds vs Chelsea, Sunday 21 August, kick-off 14:00

Leeds United and Chelsea is a rivalry due to some feisty encounters between the two sides in the 1960s and 70s. Last season we saw the Blues win 3-2 at Stamford Bridge thanks to an injury-time Jorginho penalty. Thomas Tuchel‘s side also won 3-0 at Elland Road in a match that saw Dan James sent off.

Chelsea is on the back of another fierce derby as they drew 2-2 with Tottenham Hotspur in a heated affair that saw a spat between Tuchel and Spurs manager Antonio Conte after the final whistle.

Leeds have not had a bad start to the season under Jesse Marsch with a victory over Wolves in their opening game followed by a draw with Southampton. Chelsea will still be the favourites but anything can happen in a derby.

Score prediction: Leeds 1-2 Chelsea
