After their impressive opening game against Aston Villa, Newcastle were disappointing in their defeat to Manchester City last weekend. However, Eddie Howe‘s side has another chance to prove that they can compete with the best teams in the division as they take on Liverpool this Sunday.

It took Sandro Tonali just six minutes to score his first Premier League goal against Villa. However, his form did not continue against City and was taken off midway through the second half. The Magpies spent £55 million to bring him to St James’ Park from AC Milan, so he needs to live up to this price tag.

Liverpool have had a solid start to the season with a draw against Chelsea and a 3-1 victory against Bournemouth. A player that caught the eye was Dominik Szoboszlai who joined the club from RB Leipzig this summer. The Hungarian won the penalty against the Cherries which Mohamed Salah missed but scored off the rebound from.

Last weekend’s win was marred by the harsh sending-off of Alexis Mac Allister. The Argentine was set to miss three games but a boost for the Reds is that his ban has been overturned and he will be available against Newcastle.

Score prediction: Newcastle 0-2 Liverpool

Arsenal vs Fulham, Saturday August 26, kick-off 15:00

Arsenal beat Crystal Palace on Monday night and they play another London derby this weekend as they take on Fulham. Martin Odegaard scored from the penalty spot to defeat Palace but the Gunners did have Takehiro Tomiyasu sent off, so he will miss the fixture against the Cottagers.

Eddie Nketiah is continuing to impress up front for Mikel Arteta‘s side in the absence of Gabriel Jesus. Nketiah scored against Nottingham Forest and won the penalty against Palace.

As for Fulham, they suffered a 3-0 defeat to Brentford last time out. It was a very poor performance defensively from Marco Silva‘s side and they also saw their centre-back Tim Ream get sent off.

Silva’s side did win their opening fixture against Everton. However, this Saturday they will face their toughest test so far this season. Considering their last result, it does not look very promising for Fulham.

Score prediction: Arsenal 3-0 Fulham

Brighton vs West Ham, Saturday August 26, kick-off 17:30

Brighton goes into this game as the league leaders, whilst West Ham United are on the back of a 3-1 victory against Chelsea. Both sides are on top form and this should be fantastic entertainment for Saturday’s evening fixture.

Solly March scored twice for the Seagulls against Wolverhampton Wanderers last weekend and there are even calls for him to get a call-up for the England squad. He is just another of Brighton’s front line that could hurt the Hammers with Kaoru Mitoma scoring one of the best solo goals so far this season vs Wolves and Julio Enciso assisting both of March’s finishes.

West Ham also has great attacking talent with Michail Antonio firing in an unbelievable strike against Chelsea. Despite the betting allegations against him, Lucas Paqueta played very well and secured the victory from the penalty spot. Many of the Hammers’ attacks were started off from James Ward-Prowse who is filling Declan Rice‘s boots very well.

Brighton is often considered West Ham’s bogey team. However, with both sides in top form, this could go either way. Brighton does have the home advantage though, which could edge the tie.

Score prediction: Brighton 2-1 West Ham
