  • Liverpool and United play out a draw

England – Matchweek 17 saw the shocking scenes of Luton Town captain Tom Lockyer collapsing on the pitch in a match against Bournemouth. Our thoughts are with the player, his friends and family. We wish him a speedy recovery.

Arsenal remain top of the division

Arsenal remain top of the Premier League after a 2-0 win over Brighton. Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz got the Gunners goals at the Emirates.

Mikel Arteta‘s side now lead the division by just a point and have a real chance this season. Liverpool and Manchester City both dropped points which is a boost for Arsenal.

Arsenal’s next game is against Liverpool. A win will see the Gunners top the league at Christmas.

City drop points against Palace

It has looked comfortable for Manchester City after goals from Jack Grealish and Rico Lewis put them two goals up at the Etihad Stadium. However, Jean-Philippe Mateta got one back for Crystal Palace before Michael Olise rescued a point with a penalty in the 95th minute.

City are now fourth in the Premier League with just one win in their last five games. Pep Guardiola‘s side now travel to Saudi Arabia for the Club World Cup.

Liverpool and United play out a draw

Liverpool were the heavy favourites for this game but Manchester United claimed a surprise point at Anfield. The Reds even managed to hang on despite Diogo Dalot being sent off.

Eric ten Hag has been under a lot of pressure at United but this 0-0 result is something for the Dutchman to build on. The Red Devils are seventh in the Premier League and face West Ham United next.

The Premier League returns on Thursday, December 21.
