Fulham vs Man City, Sunday April 30, kick-off 14:00
Such was Manchester City’s dominance against Arsenal and in recent games that they now look like a steam train that is set to win the race for the Premier League this year. Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne picked apart the Gunners as if they were older students playing below their age group.
Pep Guardiola‘s side is schooling teams in England and across Europe, they are still on for a remarkable treble which if they succeed would mark them out as one of the greatest teams ever. They just need to make sure they do not think that the title is already won as they are up against a Fulham side which has shown to be dangerous this season.
Fulham lost 1-0 to Aston Villa during the week, however, which leaves them in 10th place in the division. They have an outside chance of qualifying for Europe as they are just eight points off Tottenham Hotspur who occupy the Europa Conference League position.
The match will also see Guardiola’s side come up against one of their future players. Antonee Robinson has been in impressive form for Fulham this year and was linked with joining City in January. The Cottagers have been looking for replacements for Robinson as the American may well be making a move away from the club in January.
Arsenal vs Chelsea, Tuesday May 2, kick-off 19:45
Arsenal has been on a downward spiral recently, three successive draws were followed by a thumping by their title rivals Manchester City. If they are to have any hope of winning the league this year then they will need to win all their remaining games and pray that City slip up.
Mikel Arteta‘s side will be confident of beating a Chelsea side which has an even worse record than they have recently. The Blues have lost all five of their games since Frank Lampard took over. They are 11th in the league which is embarrassing for a club that has spent over £500 million on their squad.
This game is still a matchup of two great English sides despite their recent form. Both teams will be desperate to get their season back on track. City will likely be top of the league after beating Fulham at the weekend before this game takes place which will put even more pressure on Arsenal.
Arsenal’s front three of Gabriel Martinelli, Gabriel Jesus and Bukayo Saka barely got a kick against City and need to put that game behind them quickly. Chelsea’s attackers have been having even more problems with the side scoring just once under Lampard which was Conor Gallagher‘s deflected effort against Brighton.
Score prediction: Arsenal 2-0 Chelsea
Liverpool vs Tottenham, Sunday April 30, kick-off 16:30
Tottenham Hotspur claimed a draw with Manchester United in midweek, where Ryan Mason‘s side fought back from two goals down. It was a good start for Mason’s time back as interim manager and they still have an outside chance of qualifying for the Champions League.
Liverpool managed a win against West Ham United but only after coming from a goal down and for a blatant handball by Thiago not to lead to a penalty for the Hammers. Jurgen Klopp‘s side are just below Spurs by a point and would leapfrog them with a win.
The mood at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium has not been great this week with many supporters protesting against their owner Daniel Levy. The club may benefit from having this game played at Anfield but they must perform a lot better than in their last away game when they were destroyed 6-1 by Newcastle United.
The future of many Spurs players will be in doubt come the end of the season. Notably, Harry Kane who will have just a year left on his contract and could force a move. Mason must ensure they have a positive end to the campaign if they are to have any hope of Kane wanting to stay at the club.
Score prediction: Liverpool 1-2 Tottenham
