Danny Ings

We kick off Gameweek 12’s picks with a man who wasted no time in finding the net on his return from injury; Danny Ings.

Coming on as substitute after the break in last Monday’s south coast derby, Ings grabbed a late point from the penalty spot, to notch his sixth goal of the campaign.

Having missed his last three games, the Saints’ striker had previously netted five in the first seven outings of the season.

This may be the perfect time then to swoop for Ings, after his initial price-tag dropped from 8.5 to 8.3.

That said, only 95,000 have returned to Ings so far.

With games to come over the Christmas period against a shaky Arsenal and Fulham to come before the new year, the Blades’ visit this weekend, may light the touch paper on Ings’ festive season.

Sadio Mane (c)

Liverpool’s aspirations of retaining their Premier League have faltered in recent weeks, and as the Reds travel to Fulham in Gameweek 12, Sadio Mane looks like a sizeable differential.

Rested for the Merseysider’s trip to Denmark in midweek, the Senegalese looks a guaranteed starter at Craven Cottage.

Denied a first goal in five after Nelson Semedo‘s own goal for Wolves last weekend, Mane here, will surely be looking to end his drought.

Owned by less than 10% of fantasy managers, he scored twice on his last visit to west London.

Fulham, though having improved, will be sorely tested against Liverpool in GW12 and Mane could be captaincy material.

Callum Wilson

Since his arrival at Newcastle United, Callum Wilson‘s season has been rather chequered. Ahead of Gameweek 12 however, there are signs the forward may be returning to form.

Along with Joelinton, the Magpies snatched all three points in the final minutes away to Crystal Palace last time out, as Wilson grabbed a goal and assist.

Now with a tally of seven goals and three assists in 11 games, the striker has grabbed a home brace in two of his last four games at St. James’ Park.

Intriguingly, Wilson has taken away at least two bonus points on every occasion he has scored, as West Brom become the latest visitors this weekend.

If we consider also that the Baggies have conceded 11 times on the road this season, Wilson could potentially be priceless for GW12.

Gabriel

Arsenal’s goal-scoring troubles show no sign of abating, but in Gabriel, fantasy managers may look to the defender for solid points this weekend.

Perhaps one of only a handful of Gunners players to have impressed this season, the Brazilian’s arrival from Lille has been met in unison by plaudits.

Remarkably the highest points scorer amongst the Arsenal ranks, his two goals away from only three clean sheets have caught the eye.

Gabriel is a menace from set-pieces, which will be a vital ingredient in Burnley’s trip to the Emirates in GW12.

The Clarets have failed to score on the road in their last three, which points to at the very least a shutout for the hosts.

Should Burnley find the target, Gabriel might then be on hand to grab a vital goal, from an area the visitors have been uncharacteristically wanting this term.

Punt of the Week: Harvey Barnes

Our educated stab in the dark this weekend goes with Leicester City, as Harvey Barnes gets our pick.

A still vital cog in the Foxes’ system, the winger has had a relatively quite season thus far, with just three goals and an assist to show for his efforts.

Having missed last weekend’s trip to Bramall Lane, Barnes scored against AEK Athens in the Europa League, as he looks to impress on a more consistent basis.

Brighton will be test in Leicester’s desire to extend their European credentials next year, but may find the host’s possession-based play tough to handle – particularly in the wide areas.

Barnes has scored two of his goals at home this season, and looking to continue his resurgence of late, is worth consideration for GW12.
