Ryan Peniston & Andrew Watson entered the doubles event in Spain. The Brits first round opponents were the top seeds Boris Arias & Federico Zeballos. The Bolivians were unable to deal with the Brits in the first set as Peniston & Watson dominated. The second set was a little closer although the Brits did break towards the end and held on for the win 6-2, 6-4.
In the quarter-final the Brits were up against Tukhula Jacobs & David Jorda Sanchis. The Nambian/Spaniard fought hard in the first set, however they were unable to stop Peniston & Watson claiming the set. Once again the second set was closer, however it was the Brits that came out on top again to progress to the semi-final in straight sets 6-3, 6-4.
The semi-final saw the Brits face Sergio Martos Gornes & Pol Toledo Bague. The Spaniards were no match for Peniston & Watson who dominated in both sets. No matter what the Spaniards tried they could not make any inroads in the match. It was the Brits that progressed to the final in straight sets 6-2, 6-1.
In the final the Brits were against the second seeds Ivan Gakhov & Jaume Pla Malfeito. The Russian/Spaniard pair were made to fight hard by Peniston & Watson but ultimately the seeds proved that little bit stronger. Gakhov & Pla Malfeito claimed the title in straight sets 6-4, 6-4.
