Freya Christie teamed up with Erin Routliffe for the ITF event in Toowoomba. The Brit/Kiwi were the top seeds. Their first round opponents were Maddison Inglis & Kaylah Mcphee. The top seeds were not troubled by the Australian pair in the first set, strolling through for the loss of only one game. The second seed started the same way, with Christie & Routliffe claiming the first game. Inglis & Mcphee then retired from the match handing the win to the Brit/Kiwi 6-1, 1-0 RET.
The quarter-final saw the top seeds up against Marine Partaud & Aiko Yoshitomi. The French/Japan pair fought well in the first set and kept Christie & Routliffe at bay for a while. However, the top seeds showed their power and managed a breakthrough to take the set. The second set was another stroll for the Brit/Kiwi as they only dropped one game to move into the next round 6-3, 6-1.
In the semi-final Christie & Routliffe were against the third seeds Naiktha Bains & Abigail Tere-Apisah. The top seeds were pushed hard by the third seeds, before eventually securing the break in both sets. Bains & Tere-Apisah tried to fight back once broken but ultimately Christie & Routliffe moved into the final 6-4, 6-3.
The final saw the top seeds face Samantha Harris & Astra Sharma. The Australians proved to be the toughest opponents so far, staying toe to toe with Christie & Routliffe until the very end of the first set when the Brit/Kiwi broke serve. In the second set the top seeds once again managed to get the break of serve and hold on for the title 7-5, 6-4.
