Delgado/Skupski(1) 7-6(3) 6-1 Meffert/Oswald

The all British team of Jamie Delgado and Ken Skupski saw off Dominik Meffert and Philipp Oswald in Quimper, France to reach the Challenger tournament final.

The top seeds won their semi-final against the German-Austrian pairing in just under an hour in what Skupski referred to as their “Best performance of the season.”

Despite their opponents both being ranked outside the top 100 for doubles, it was a tight first set for the Brits, saving three break points before winning the tie-break 7-3.

In the second set they improved their service game, with 77% of first serves in, as well as their returning which yielded two breaks of serve to wrap up the match 7-6 6-1.

In the final on Sunday  they will play the second seeds, Swede Johan Brunstrom and South African Raven Klaasen, who are in a fine run of form, narrowly losing in the final of the ATP 250 Open Sud de France in Montpellier last week.
