LONDON, UK – Juan Martin Del Potro has joined a star studied line up at the Aegon Champions in Queens this summer.

The former US Open Champion will play in the Wimbledon war up event alongside the likes of Andy Murray, Stan Wawrinka, and Rafael Nadal who are also on the entry list.

This years edition of the Championships sees over half of the world’s top 30 set to enter the competition with 16 names on the list.

“The Aegon Championships has always punched above its weight in terms of attracting many of the best players in the world to compete, but this year’s field at The Queen’s Club is our best ever,” said Stephen Farrow, Tournament Director in a statement.

“Centre Court tickets sold out in less than 24 hours, we have seen a significant increase in demand for hospitality packages this year, and with 16 of the world’s Top 30 intending to play, everything is set for a fantastic week in June.”

The Aegon Championships was voted tournament of the year on the ATP World tour last year- the third time in a row it has received this annual award.

With a line up like this, the Aegon Championships of 2016 look set to be a great event. Outside of the top names there’s plenty of good grass courters such as Cilic, Gasquet, Raonic, Dimitrov, Tsonga and more. Cilic and Dimitrov are former champions at this event whilst Tsonga is a former finalist. Gasquet and Raonic have both made the semi finals of Wimbledon in the previous two years.

Now with Del Potro added to the mix, the line up just got even better. The Tower of Tandil is making his return this season after a wrist injury and has decided to add Queens to his Wimbledon preparations.

Del Potro himself is a former Wimbledon semi finalist and won Olympic Bronze at the the All England club in 2012 where he defeated Novak Djokovic in the third place match.
