- Capital One Third Round Draw
- Ties to be played week commencing September 21st
Tottenham will host Arsenal while Birmingham will take on rivals Aston Villa as the Capital One Cup third round draw threw up some tasty looking matches.
Spurs, who beat Arsenal on their way to winning the competition in 2008 and who lost to Chelsea in last season’s final, will host their north London rivals at White Hart Lane.
Meanwhile, The Blues, 2011 winners, eased to a 2-0 win over Gillingham last night, have the chance to knock-out their second city rivals Villa, who needed extra-time to beat Notts County 5-3, at Villa Park.
Elsewhere, holders Chelsea begin their defence with a trip to League One Walsall, while Manchester United and Liverpool were given home ties against Championship Ipswich Town and League Two Carlisle.
There are three more ties between Premier League sides: Norwich will host West Brom, Leicester tackle West Ham and Sunderland entertain Manchester City.
Watford were the only top-flight team to exit last night’s competition – a 1-0 defeat to Preston – with their reward a home tie against newly-promoted Bournemouth.
Everton’s reward for defeating Barnsley 5-3 in last night’s pulsating final second-round tie will see them entertain Reading at the Madjewski Stadium.

Norwich City v West Brom

Leicester City v West Ham
