Who are the Australian Open defending champions?
Novak Djokovic had a point to prove last year, having been unceremoniously deported in 2022 for not having been vaccinated against Covid. After an emotional win, he would continue his year with three out of the four Slams, only being beaten at Wimbledon by Carlos Alcaraz. He is tied with Margaret Court on 24 Slam titles.
Aryna Sabalenka achieved her dream of winning a Grand Slam title and now returns to defend. She will not be the only former champion in Melbourne, with the return of both Naomi Osaka and Angelique Kerber after the birth of their first children.
