ATP Paris Masters 1000

  • Marin Cilic went one better than grabbing a Barclays World Tour Finals spot yesterday by ousting World No. 1 and three-time defending champion (four time champion overall) Novak Djokovic. Cilic won on his 15th attempt against the Serbian.
  • John Isner overcame a wobble after a foot fault threw him off his game, to beat compatriot and current US No. 1 Jack Sock to reach his first Masters 1000 semi-final since reaching that stage in Miami, 2015.
  • Andy Murray overcame his closest fight in a while against Tomas Berdych to put himself just one win away from the World No. 1 spot – he will face Milos Raonic who is currently on a seven-match losing streak against the Brit.
  • Jo-Wilfried Tsonga’s loss to Raonic meant that Dominic Thiem now makes up the Barclays World Tour Final line-up. The Austrian was on tenterhooks over the week as it was literally a dash to the finish.

  • Konta will face Elina Svitolina in the semi-final, with Kvitova facing off against Zhang Shuai
